Managed Mechanical Services

Protect the equipment that keeps chairs running

A dental office stays open because of electronics and because of air, vacuum, HVAC, gas, and water. MMS watches the second group before it fails.

The idea

Two types of equipment. One practice day.

  1. 1
Electronic hardware and software — computers, network, internet, servers, printers, and practice management systems. TSS already manages this through Managed IT Support.
  2. 2
Electromechanical, gas, and water systems — air compressor, vacuum, HVAC, nitrogen/air, and related utility equipment. MMS helps protect this group.

How it works

We install small sensors on key equipment to watch temperature, vibration, current, and pressure. If a reading starts to go outside the normal range, we notify the office so the issue can be addressed before it becomes a shutdown.

Benefits

Why offices look at MMS

  • Catch problems early on compressors, vacuum, HVAC, and related equipment
  • Reduce unexpected breakdowns that stop patient care
  • Avoid emergency repair bills and after-hours service calls
  • Reduce lost production and the inconvenience of rescheduling patients
  • Plan repairs instead of reacting to a failure

On cost

One unplanned compressor or HVAC failure can stop the office for hours and turn into an emergency repair plus lost production. MMS is meant to see the problem developing so it can be handled before that happens.

Maintenance types

Reactive, preventive, then predictive

A. Reactive

Wait until it fails, then repair it.

B. Preventive

Service on a calendar, whether it needs it or not.

C. Predictive

Service when the data shows a problem is developing.

What we typically monitor

Air compressor

Current, vibration, output pressure, temperature.

Vacuum

Current and vibration on pumps that cannot stop mid-day.

HVAC

Current, vibration, and line temperature trends.

Nitrogen / air

Temperature and pressure / level so tanks are not a surprise.

MMS can be added to existing TSS IT support, or used on its own. Same month-to-month approach as our IT services.
